Cancellation & Refund Policy

1. About MakeThatTwo

MakeThatTwo is an online marketplace for adults aged 18 or over. It connects Clients seeking social company with independent Companions offering pre-arranged, strictly platonic social companionship in permitted public settings.

MakeThatTwo provides the platform, profiles, booking tools, messaging, payment facilitation, identity and age verification, check-in/check-out and safety/reporting features. The Companion provides the companionship service independently.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be 18 or over and legally able to enter into a contract to use booking features. Information supplied to MakeThatTwo must be accurate and must not impersonate another person.

Clients and Companions may create a profile before verification. Paid booking functions are restricted until the identity and age requirements shown by the platform have been completed.

MakeThatTwo may refuse, restrict, suspend or close an account where reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, payment risk or a serious/repeated breach of these Terms or the Code of Conduct.

3. Identity and age verification

MakeThatTwo requires users to verify their identity and confirm they are aged 18 or over before accessing booking features.

Verification material must be genuine and belong to the account holder. Verification images are not displayed publicly. Retention and deletion are handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Profiles and display names

Users may use a public display name. A display name does not replace the legal identity held privately for account, verification, payment, tax or legal purposes.

Profile information and photographs must be accurate, lawful and not materially misleading. MakeThatTwo may remove or restrict content that breaches platform rules or creates a safety, legal or fraud risk.

5. Independent Companions

Companions act independently. They choose their availability, permitted outings and which booking requests to accept or decline. They may set prices through the options provided by the platform.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove any employment, worker, consumer or other statutory right that applies under law. A Companion is responsible for considering their own tax and other legal obligations arising from income earned through the platform.

6. Strictly platonic and public

Every booking arranged through MakeThatTwo is strictly platonic. Payment is for agreed time, company, conversation, attendance and social companionship only. It does not create any entitlement to romantic, intimate or sexual contact or services.

The platform must not be used to offer, request, arrange or negotiate sexual services or payment for sexual activity.

Bookings must take place in suitable public settings. Private residences, hotel rooms and other prohibited private settings must not be used for a booking. Neither participant may pressure the other to move a booking to a prohibited location.

7. Booking requests

A Client may send a booking request for a proposed public outing. A Companion is free to accept, decline or, where the platform permits, respond with a different price or arrangement.

A request is not a confirmed booking until the platform confirms it and any required payment step has been completed. The booking summary and total payable are shown before payment.

8. Fees and Companion commission

The current Client service fee is 5% of the Companion booking price and is shown before payment.

The current Companion commission is 15% for 0-49 eligible completed bookings, 12.5% for 50-99, and 10% from 100 eligible completed bookings. The applicable commission is deducted from Companion earnings.

Fees may change for future bookings. Any applicable fee will be shown before a new booking is confirmed; a later change will not retrospectively increase the price of an already confirmed booking.

9. Payments and payouts

Booking payments must use the payment method provided through MakeThatTwo. Users must not deliberately bypass the platform payment system for a booking introduced or arranged through MakeThatTwo in order to avoid platform fees.

Companion payouts are normally processed after a booking is treated as completed, subject to payment-provider processing times. A payout may be delayed where reasonably necessary to investigate a dispute, chargeback, suspected fraud, safety report, no-show or other legitimate issue.

10. Check-in and check-out

Participants must use required check-in and check-out features truthfully. These features support booking records and safety processes; they are not a guarantee of personal safety.

Either participant may end an outing at any time. If an outing ends early because of a safety or serious conduct concern, payment or refund treatment may be paused while the circumstances are reviewed.

11. Cancellations, refunds and no-shows

The Cancellation & Refund Policy forms part of these Terms. Statutory rights are not excluded.

Where a Companion cancels and the booked companionship service is not provided, the Client will normally receive a full refund including the Client service fee. No-show and early-ending cases may be reviewed using available booking records and reports.

12. Conduct, messaging and reports

Users must follow the Code of Conduct and Safety Procedures. Harassment, threats, discrimination, coercion, sexual pressure, fraud, deliberate payment circumvention and serious misuse of the platform are prohibited.

The reporting feature may be used to report a concern. MakeThatTwo may restrict contact or account access while a report is reviewed. Reports are assessed using the information reasonably available; the platform does not promise that every dispute can be independently proven.

13. Platform role and availability

MakeThatTwo is an intermediary marketplace and is not a party providing the Companion's personal service. It does not guarantee that a particular user, outing, venue, profile, message, payment service or platform feature will always be available.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any mandatory consumer right.

14. Tax and digital-platform reporting

Companions are responsible for considering whether income earned through the platform must be declared and whether tax is due.

Where MakeThatTwo is legally required to collect, verify, retain or report seller and transaction information to HM Revenue & Customs or another competent authority, users must provide information reasonably required for that purpose. MakeThatTwo may give a seller a copy or summary of information reported where required by law.

15. Privacy and records

Personal information is handled under the Privacy Policy. Limited records may be retained after account closure where reasonably necessary for legal obligations, tax/reporting, fraud prevention, safety, disputes, chargebacks or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

16. Changes and contact

These Terms may be updated where reasonably necessary because of changes to the service, law, safety requirements, fees or third-party services. Material changes affecting existing rights or obligations will be communicated where required.
